FluentSeed wants you to feel confident about every payment. Your first lesson is a free trial, our plans have no lock-in contract, and you can request a refund of any unused, unexpired lessons at any time. This page explains exactly how that works.
1. Your free trial is free
Every new student starts with a free trial lesson and a level assessment. We don't ask for a credit card to book it and there's no charge - so there's nothing to refund for the trial itself.
2. Not happy after your first paid lesson?
If you sign up for a paid plan and feel FluentSeed isn't the right fit after your child's first paid lesson, contact us within 7 days of that lesson and we'll refund that first payment in full. We'd love the chance to switch your child's teacher first (see section 7), but the choice is always yours.
3. Refunds on unused lessons
You can ask for a refund of lessons you've paid for but not yet taken, as long as they haven't expired. We calculate it simply:
- We start from the amount you paid.
- We subtract the lessons your child has already taken, charged at the normal single-lesson rate for your plan.
- We subtract any free, bonus or promotional lessons that were included at no charge.
- The remaining balance is refunded to you.
You can check how many lessons have been used and how many remain at any time - just ask our support team and we'll confirm the figures before processing anything.
4. Cancelling a monthly plan
Our plans (Sprout, Bloom and Flourish) are billed monthly with no contract. You can cancel anytime to stop future payments - once you cancel, your card is never charged again. Lessons you've already paid for in your current cycle stay available to use, and unused lessons may roll over (see section 5). If you'd prefer a refund of unused lessons from your current cycle rather than using them, the calculation in section 3 applies.
5. Lesson rollover and expiry
Unused lessons roll over for up to 30 days, so a busy week or a family holiday doesn't mean losing what you paid for. Lessons that expire after the rollover period are no longer usable and aren't refundable, so we'll always remind you before any lessons are due to expire.
6. What isn't refundable
- Lessons your child has already taken.
- Free, bonus, gifted or promotional lessons (they were provided at no cost).
- Lessons that have expired after the rollover period.
- The free trial (there's no charge to refund).
7. Prefer a different teacher? Try a rematch first
Most concerns come down to teacher fit rather than the lessons themselves - and that's an easy fix. You can request a new teacher at any time, free of charge, and we'll rematch your child within 24 hours. Get in touch and we'll sort it out before you decide on a refund.
8. How to request a refund
Email us at hello@fluentseed.com with your name, your child's name, and a short note about why you'd like a refund. There are no forms to chase - a real person will reply and confirm the details with you.
9. How long refunds take
Once a refund is approved, we process it to your original payment method within 7-10 business days. Depending on your bank or card provider, it can take a little longer to appear on your statement.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this refund policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Any refund request is handled under the policy in effect on the day you make it.
